  • Novel Books is a quaint little bookstore owned by Gerald Cooke...one of the three people to go missing. Will the last place Gerald was seen be a source of knowledge?
  • Art Gallery, Bold Depictions, is owned by painter Colin Ellison. Colin's work may not be for everyone, but that doesn't stop his big dreams.
  • Old clues packed away in dusty corners hide secrets that span generations.
  • The room Penelope is assigned while in Carlisle is nothing luxurious - but it can't be too bad when pizza is only a phone call away.
  • Suspects' living spaces are only off limits to those without a little imagination and ingenuity.
  • Penelope is faced by codes, ciphers, and puzzles as she works her way through the case. Will she have what it takes to crack them?
  • This case takes Penelope all around the town of Carlisle and beyond as she explores places important to the mystery.
  • The freshly painted red walls of the Rosewood Apartments interior can't mask the building's flickering lights and crumbling features. ..Wait. What was that sound!?
  • Examine items that may - or may not - be useful clues. It's kind of like finding a needle in a haystack.
  • Collect and combine items!
  • Sometimes Penelope will need to learn more about a topic - there's no better place to learn than the bookstore!
  • Carlisle is an idyllic town that borders the seaside. With its picturesque views and low crime, could there be more to this town than what's on the surface?

CHARACTERS

STACY LEITH
Stacy Leith - Penelope’s perpetually prickly neighbor while in Carlisle - oozes with sarcasm and “done with you” energy. As a local, she might have heard some talk around town about the case, but does she want to talk to Penelope? Probably not. Stacy’s relevance to the case seems to only be by proximity ...at first. But as Penelope starts to uncover Stacy’s past, she learns that there is more to this innocent bystander than it seems.

MITCHELL HART
Mitchell Hart is a good friend of Gerald Cooke, one of the three to go missing. During his absence, Mitchell is keeping watch over Gerald’s bookstore and is clearly frustrated that he can’t be of more help to the case. Mitchell is forthcoming when asked about Gerald, but when some of Mitchell’s facts begin to cross themselves, a darker picture starts to be painted over what appears to be Mitchell’s otherwise normal life.
COLIN ELLISON
Painter Colin Ellison owns his own art gallery outside of town. The... vibrancy of his art almost makes up for his sheer lack of talent. Still, he’s successful enough to keep his gallery alive and live the big city life. Time with Colin is never dull. One minute he’s charming and polite. The next he’s going off on a rage-fueled rant about a teenage boy who made some jokes at the expense of his art. The same boy who also happened to go missing later that day...

EVELYN BURKE
Evelyn Burke is an enigma. After following an unconventional string of clues, Penelope ends up on her doorstep. Penelope must be very careful about what she says in order to earn her trust rather than a door in the face. Evelyn’s cryptic personality leads Penelope in circles trying to find answers. Does Evelyn realize that the secrets she plans to bring to her grave could lead the missing people to theirs? ...What if she does?
